The Project
Hereford County Hospital, working in partnership with Sodexo and Wye Valley NHS Trust required a phased fire door replacement programme. It involved the installation of BM Trada-certified fire doors across live wards, ensuring full compliance with fire safety standards while maintaining the day-to-day operation of a busy hospital environment.
The Challenge
Working within live wards presented a complex set of challenges. Patient comfort, safety and minimal disruption were critical, particularly during an extremely busy winter period. The project therefore, required precise coordination to ensure installations were carried out efficiently, quietly and safely, without interrupting care delivery or compromising ward operations.
The Solution
Intastop supplied and installed its Type 2 acute healthcare doorsets, specifically designed for high-traffic clinical environments.
These doorsets combine robust fire performance with durability and ease of maintenance, helping estates teams meet compliance requirements while reducing long-term lifecycle costs. Intastop’s ability to provide both doors and complementary protection products as one, supported the project by streamlining procurement and ensuring consistency across the site.
