Creating safer, more dignified mental health environments starts with the details. Every element — from doors to vision panels — plays a crucial role in protecting patients, supporting recovery, and promoting wellbeing. Recognising this, Intastop has enhanced its specialist SECURA Privacy Vision Panel, now offering an optional auto-close feature — giving care teams greater flexibility to balance safety and privacy in mental health environments.

As part of Intastop’s specialist SECURA range, the enhanced SECURA Privacy Vision Panel — now available with optional auto-closing functionality — has been developed to meet the exacting needs of this environment. The panel ensures privacy is automatically restored after observation, supporting a safer, more dignified standard of care.

With up to 84% visibility, the new range addition, allows clear observation when required, yet automatically returns to the closed position to safeguard privacy. Its design has been cycle tested beyond two million operations, fire tested to BS476 Part 20 & 22 (30 and 60 minutes), and assessed to the Medium Secure Abuse Standard, ensuring it stands up to the most demanding healthcare settings.

“Designing for mental health environments requires a careful balance of strength, safety, and sensitivity,” said Business Development Director, Phil Barsby. “Our SECURA range embodies that balance — combining robust performance with features that promote privacy, dignity, and wellbeing for every individual in care”.
