Intastop, will be showcasing our SECURA range of products at this year’s Design in Mental Health exhibition on stand 211, on 8th and 9th June .  The range is specifically designed to help reduce the risk of ligature from high-risk points such as doors.

Addressing industry challenges is fundamental in Intastop’s Protecting Doors and People philosophy, therefore we have worked closely with similar companies across the globe to develop a comprehensive range of SECURA products.  Each and every one is designed to help ligature risk reduction, whilst ensuring both patient and staff are kept safe and comfortable within their environment.

The starting point of our SECURA range stemmed from the primary challenge with doors. Often, they used to be chamfered which then presented alternative challenges including privacy and security.  Intastop was the first company to introduce a Door Top Alarm which activates an audible sound and links with staff alert systems should pressure be applied to the door top.  We have now enhanced this further and will be showcasing a compatible alarm for the door bottom at DIMH, after research found that the base of a door can also pose a ligature risk.  Furthermore, both alarms work hand in hand with other SECURA products such as the Removable Door Stop, Frame Mounted Closer, Full Mortice Shrouded Hinge SECURA Clear vision panel.

The team will also be featuring, on stand, the Shrouded Double Swing Hinge with Twin Smoke Seals.  This meets FD30s (Fire Tested to BS476: Part 20 & 22) doorset requirements meaning that the integrity of the door provides increased fire safety whilst ensuring ligature risk reduction for room occupants and easy access for staff.

The interactive stand allows visitors to see and feel the quality of products available from our SECURA range, whilst speaking directly with our experts who have been instrumental in designing and bringing the products to market.
