The Project
Cygnet Pindar House is a specialist neuropsychiatric rehabilitation hospital providing care for adult men with acquired brain injuries and complex neurological conditions. They had a requirement for a wall finish that helped to create a welcoming, therapeutic environment but that also needed to be balanced with the practical demands of the specialist setting. A key aim of the project was to reduce ongoing maintenance costs while introducing a more therapeutic, hotel-like feel to the lounge area.
The Challenge
In a specialist rehabilitation setting, walls and other vulnerable areas can be exposed to impact from mobility equipment, furniture and general activity. Cygnet Pindar House wanted a durable alternative that would help protect the walls while still providing the attractive finish needed to create a less clinical and more therapeutic environment. The solution therefore needed to combine durability, practicality and aesthetics rather than simply providing traditional wall protection.
The Solution
Cygnet Pindar House selected Ricochet® Flexible Wall Protection. Designed to combine the appearance of a premium wall covering with a flexible yet more tough durability than that of traditional wallpaper, Ricochet provided an ideal alternative helping to transform the appearance of the room. Its wipe-clean surface will also make ongoing maintenance easier, helping the walls retain their fresh appearance for longer.
