The Project Brief:

With a focus to reduce potential ligature deaths from door sets within a mental health facility, a NHS Trust, looked for a robust cost effective solution that could be incorporated onto 500+ doors without the need to replace existing door sets. It was also important that one supplier could not only deliver the solution but, also manage the installation and provide just one point of contact for the entire project, as well as manage the integration of the Quantec Staff Alert System.

The project would have to be delivered on live wards so therefore a precise, efficient and sensitive plan would have to be rolled out, adhering to a complex set of stringent requirements.

 

Solution:

Intastop provided a complete installation solution, combining seven products including the Door Top Alarm, Removable Doorstop and Secura Vision Panels. The tamper proof solution was retro-fitted to existing doors whilst also being supplied direct to door manufacture for fit on new doorsets.
